Glenn and I were listening to this song the other day on our way to The Gorge at George, WA., to catch The Police and Elvis Costello and we were listening to our 1990's folder on the Ipod and this song popped up and I was reminded of how much I enjoy the fun nature of this song. I am so picky about my rap choices, but this one has always been a favorite of mine. I love Treach. His vocal tone and flow really make me groove.

I am so hooked on this album. It is so refreshingly wonderful I am just loving it!

This song has so many fabulous tempo changes and such a unique arrangement. I ADORE the portion of the song where her voice squeaks when she sings, "You say my name like there could be an us." Sends shivers through me!

The lyrics though sometimes difficult to interpret are so intriguing and well written... this is just such a solid track.

My UK music obsession continues.

I discovered this song when it played on the radio a few weeks ago and at first I did not pay a ton of attention because it was just background music to another day driving to work, but then about 5 days ago I heard it again on the radio while driving home from work and it really caught my attention. So much so that I had to call Glenn at home to look it up and find out more about it.

Turns out this girl is freaking amazing! I love the album and recommend it to anyone who misses truly soulful music. The album is called "19" because that is her age. Holy freakin' space monkeys! That is unreal! This girl has a lot to bring to the table at such a tender age. Her sound I believe is best described as Feist meets Joss Stone meets a teeny dash of Aretha Franklin. Great stuff!

You HAVE got to give this song a chance! Check out the YouTube video, (the live version is just about as magical if not more so),but seriously BUY this album. It is so exciting to see such amazing talent emerging back on to popular radio!!!

(Here is Adele singing daydreamer on Jools Holland live. This is a very moving performance and so vocally effortless for this amazing lady. WOW!!!)

What a crazy month it has been. I have been so lame about my top 10,000... oh well, I am starting to feel inspired again so here goes....

Glenn discovered this artist on a website called thesixtyone and I fell IN LOVE like head over heals with "Make Love." It is such a happy jazzy tune and it make me ecstatic every time it plays!

I do not know a lot about Joe Cang yet, however, I do know he was the original bass player in the '80's band Scritti Politti, which Glenn adores.. I like Scritti Politti too but Glenn LOVES them and was pretty excited to make the connection between them and Joe Cang.

This song is not on any albums that I could find just yet but is available to purchase on Amazon as and MP3 download, which I am buying today! :)

It is so incredibly cool to hear that there are still artists like Joe making music in this style!

This is most assuredly one of the best rock songs ever written. The driving guitar riffs and powerfully passionate vocals delivered my my hero, Ms. Ann Wilson, just make this song a rockin' piece of music history.

Anyone who knows me knows my love of Heart and Ann Wilson especially so there is not much else I can say... These ladies are just an inspiration and changed the face of women in music forever.

Ya just gotta love a song about masturbation.... who knew??? Hahaha!

I was about 6 years old when this album came out and my Mom was a huge fan of Cyndi Lauper and she bought this on vinyl and we all listened to it repeatedly... practically wore it out...

Cyndi Lauper is such an amazing talent and truly is unusual in the most wonderful way. This song is fun, upbeat, and a lil dirty.... definitely an important contributor to my musical taste and history no doubt.

I have revamped my thinking on my top 10,000 and want it to feel more like a fun thing and not a chore so I will actually get to it. So I am just going to pick like I have in the past and pick whatever feels right for that day or just any random song I like just because I can.

Today is one of those days where I just thought of an artist I adore and The Beatles are an easy one because their catalog is so gigantic, I knew I would be able to pick a song in minutes.

"Girl" is actually one of my all time favorite Beatles tracks because the arrangement is unique, and the breaths that John takes while singing are so sexy and romantic in a backwards kind of dark sort of way it makes me swoon. This is one of those songs you could only dream of having inspired... it is so beautiful. That sounds strange given the content of the lyrics, but to have been able to create this kind of emotion in another person is just amazing to me...

My darling hubby actually made a cover of this song which I enjoy immensely. I can pretend he wrote and sang it for me right? ;) (I am not coy enough nor do I have enough ego to of inspired something quite like this but, again, I can pretend... hahaha...)

Back on my Kooks kick! Oh man I love this new album and Glenn pointed out today that I had not picked a song from "Konk" yet and mentioned how he had beat me to picking this track. This is definitely one of if not my absolute fav track on this new album.

I just adore the fun music The Kooks create. It is so amazingly refreshing!!! And again I have to say I adore the fact that they are average looking fellows... Again, SO refreshing.

My favorite line in this song is:

I love the way he sings the lyrics in that specific portion of the song.

This song makes me HAVE to dance and feels so good in my ears and my head... :)

Man, I just adore this whole album. I finally went out and bought a brand spankin' new copy because I had to own this music.

This song is a little more serious lyrically for a Jack Johnson song. I absolutely adore the musical arrangement. This track contains so many hooks and is just loaded with ear candy. It grooves so nicely for an acoustic song.

The little flourishes Jack throws in on the guitar here and there just make this song come alive!

My husband knows what cracks me up and pitch shifted voices definitely get me every time. this is just a fun little project and I love it!

This song just hits me in all the right ways, mainly because the lyrics are morbidly brilliant and touching in a strange way.

The song is about losing a friend and the way the character in the songs decided to handle that and saying goodbye. The last verse is truly my favorite because I could see me being this way if one of my friends passed.... sometimes it is just right or appropriate to be totally wrong and inappropriate... :) Read the lyrics... it is a fun read.

So I have become a big Ben Folds fan over the years and this is definitely one of his most shining moments for me.

"One Angry Dwarf And 200 Solemn Faces" is such a lyrical masterpiece. This song is a ballad for the nerdy less popular folks in the world.... The track is pretty obviously a big middle finger towards to A-holes in school who make us all angry dwarfs. :P

Ben Folds is such a talented pianist as well. Check out the video and watch his crazy antics. I had never watched the video until today and enjoyed it thoroughly. :)

I was listening to this song on the way home from work and though I am not huge on a lot of 80's music this song is quite enjoyable to my ears.

Glenn and I were just chatting about how a lot of couples back when this song first came out danced to this at their weddings and made it "their song" and how the lead vocalist, Sting, found that odd as the song is not so much about being romantic and in love but more so about surveillance. :) That is pretty funny... :)

As far as what attracts me to this song.... I think it is the portion of the bridge where it appears to be more romantic...

Back again.... sad that this is my first entry all month long... oh well.. that is the point of this experiment, pick a song when you are really feeling it... :)

So Glenn introduced me to this song and I am in love with it. It is fun and kicky and has awesomely smart and sassy lyrics. It is a little nerdy and a little odd. The hand clap sounds are awesome and add a lot to the fun!

"He's on the radio, he gives fellatio, to the radio programmers" is definitely the best line in my opinion... :)

Man I have been busy... lots of spring cleaning, which is partly to blame for my lack of song choices as of late.

Glenn and I were cleaning up the back yard the other day and were discussing what an awesome song "Maria" by Blondie is. I love Deborah Harry's powerful and sultry vocals on this track. It is very fun to dance to and is just a cool semi punky recording.

It is nice to see some artists whose vocals may change over time but still sound fantatstic!

I was enjoying this song tonight as I drove to a friends house and thought it would be a great one to pick this evening.

I had the great pleasure of seeing Ingrid in person on March 2nd and she was fantastic. Her vocals were as spot on as on the CD, but her personality and sense of humor nearly overshadowed her raging musical talent.

I adore her... and am so jealous... hahaha... not really. I just really admire her. I mean she kept our attention every moment. The portion of the show where she was playing piano and began questioning if the people above/beside the stage could see down her butt crack... it was just hilarious how candid and inviting she was. She made me a fan for life...

This song, "The Hat" is very creative and fun. Smart lyrics, (an Ingrid trait for sure), a fun arrangement, and it has some nice surprise change ups that are just invigorating!

I really like this YouTube clip of her performing the song live as it show cases a little bit of her on stage persona. :) Enjoy!

I was going to pick this song the last time I attempted to update my list but with feeling so sick the last little bit I have not been inspired to sit upright a lot... :P I heard this song on the radio when it was new... this is just a very fun rendition of the song "Stay" originally by Maurice Williams And The Zodiacs.

It has a fun reggae beat and is just a blast to dance to! I am such a sucker for reggae... :) Any remake is usually cool by me if done in a reggae vibe. :P

So as a kid I was always a big fan of The Muppet Show. We grew up together. :) And this is one of my all time favorite songs ever performed on the show. "Rainbow Connection" is classic.

It is so beautiful in it's simplicity. And I am in love with Kermit the Frog. :P (Glenn reminds me a lot of Kermit in a lot of ways... coincidence? I think not.) :P

This is my all time favorite Frontalittle (FAL) Squad track. A seriously kick ass nerdcore "rap" performed by myself and several other nerdy rappers with varying degrees of talent and ability. I think that is the draw of FAL Squad... anyone is welcome to participate regardless of ability as long as you have the drive to participate and make it fun that is all you really need.

This track is so fun because it reminds me of when I used to play D&D as a youngster. Good times... :) so many hilarious memories... I never played until I was about 15 or so... It was almost more of a creative writing game between the folks I would play with. It was just a fun time and we never took it too seriously.

I remember I was especially proud of myself on this track because I was the only female rapper, and I wrote the majority of my verse by myself. (Normally Glenn has to help me get the proper words and arrangements as my rap abilities are lacking.) :P

Everyone did awesome on this track but I have to say my cousin Jeff and my good friend Hoblit have a couple of my personal favorite verses.

This song just popped into my head tonight and it felt right to pick it today.

I adore the band America and am surprised I have not picked more by them yet... I will be sure to rectify that going forward. ;)

Oh how I long for the day of average looking musicians who make amazing music. I so love the harmonies in this song. The arrangement is fantastic! The video is really hilarious but great at the same time. They did not have a lot to work with visually back then so they had to rely more on talent and song writing ability... it is nice to remember this kind of music. Plus I grew up on songs like this so it takes me back a lil too. ;)
