My best friend introduced me to this song. It SO reminds me of Glenn's and my short lil courtship...

~`~ Glenn and I met in September, I made him wait around... briefly :P, and he definitely was the one to pursue things at first...

So I was late for class, I locked my bike to yours
It wasn't hard to find, you'd painted flowers on
Guess that I was afraid that if you rolled away
You might not roll back my direction real soon

~`~ Not as much relatedable in this verse... outside of Glenn moving things along pretty speedily...

~`~ This album was released in 2005 and Glenn and I celebrated our 10th anniversary in 2005....

Do you remember when we first moved in together?
The piano took up the living room

~`~ Who couldn't relate to most of this verse really... funny enough though we did have the piano in the closet in our first apartment, well a large keyboard... still counts... :P The small walk in closet was the recording studio...

We built our getaway up in a tree we found
We felt so far away though we were still in town
Now I remember watching that old tree burn down
I took a picture that I don't like to look at
Well all these times they come and go
And alone don't seem so long
Over ten years have gone by
We can't rewind, we're locked in time

~`~ So yeah... good stuff... I am on an acoustic folky kick... that is very me these days.... I am loving raw, sensitive, tender emotion...

Ahhhh.... memories.... On a side note, I remember someone special on this day every year.... he would have been 11 today... I miss my son so much... all these things, these experiences, these losses and loves make us who we are... I for one don't care to rewind... I don't mind looking back from time to time, but I would never want to rip open the wounds healed by time... the scars tell the story and build the characters... the good and the bad...
