Day 35 - Beverly Bremers - Don't Say You Don't Remember

DAY 35
Beverly Bremers – “Don’t Say You Don’t Remember”
From Original single release only and later available on The Very Best of Beverly Bremers “Don’t Say You Don’t Remember” and on various other compilation albums of popular ’70 hits

Tonight I am choosing a song I fell in love with in a round about way. I discovered 2 significant gems while watching the movie “Me, Myself, & Irene.”

One being my musical hero Ellis Paul… the other was this song but not performed by Beverly Bremers. It was this song only be covered and performed by the angelic spawn of James Taylor and Carly Simon… lil miss Sally Taylor. I ADORE Sally’s version of this song, but sadly I have never been able to find a purchasable copy of Sally’s rendition.

Glenn and I did research on both songs that attracted our attention in the film and discovered that Beverly Bremers had originally written and performed “Don’t Say You Don’t Remember” back in 1971.

It is funny because the words aren’t really the truly amazing part of the song, but rather the PASSION with which she sings the lyrics. You can feel the emotion and the yearning. It is so powerful and beautiful.

An excellent track and an essential part of any good music library for sure!
